The One Show host Alex Jones has been forced to apologise after an embarrassing blunder saw her butcher a guest's name.
Akiwowo, a women's rights activist and founder of anti-online-bullying campaign Glitch, looked awkward as Jones mispronounced her name.
She took to Twitter to explain that she had even spelled out her name phonetically to the show beforehand, and that Jones had said it right during rehearsals.
The correct pronunciation of her name is "Shay-ee Aki-wo-wo".
Jones tweeted an apology shortly after the footage got shared around on Twitter.
" @seyiakiwowo I just wanted to send a huge apology for mispronouncing your name on the show last night.
"I’m so sorry. You were utterly brilliant and thanks for opening up such an important discussion on @BBCTheOneShow," she wrote.
"The whole interview is on @BBCiPlayer xxx".
Akiwowo replied: "I appreciate the apology @MissAlexjones".
She had written earlier: "I did go to *great* lengths to make sure presenters were able to pronounce my name right and explained why it's important. Its also 'cos I appreciate people phonetically spelling their names as I want to get it right…

She concluded: "From my face alone I'm pretry sure Alex is feeling it and will do much better next time [sic]".
Her followers joined in to vent about their names being butchered.
"I know that look. The look your eyes… It’s a look that of dismay that they didn’t pronounce your name correctly. I FEEL that look. As do that myself regularly…" wrote one.
"I spent most of my life spelling out my surname. Got married and I am still spelling out my surname," added another.
"Your face said it all!… u should have said her name wrong," wrote a third.
*The One Show airs on weeknights at 7pm on BBC One.
