Amanda Abbington snubs BBC Strictly Come Dancing final after Giovanni feud

Strictly Come Dancing star Amanda Abbington will not be returning to the show for the final.

This comes after she quit the show half-way through due to 'feud' rumours between her and her partner Giovanni Pernice. The BBC pro will now inevitably have to dance alone as the dancers return to the stage.

This news is another blow to Giovanni who was reportedly left "fuming" over her decision to leave the competition. Amanda has since revealed that she left the show due to "personal reasons".

A BBC spokesperson said at the time: "Amanda decided to withdraw from the competition, therefore she will not be returning for the final."

Sharing his gratitude to his partner at the time, Giovanni shared a photo of the pair and wrote: "I am so sad we can't continue but I am proud of what we achieved and I am sending you so much love."

It Takes Two host Fleur East also read out the following statement on the BBC Two show, it read: "Amanda Abbington is unable to continue in strictly -come-dancing>Strictly Come Dancing and has decided to withdraw from the competition. The show wishes her all the best for the future."

Amanda's partner Jonathan Goodwin also got involved with social media posts and uploaded a cryptic post just hours before her exit was officially announced. He penned: "We can be so hard on ourselves…be our own worst critics… But before you judge yourself… make sure your mirror is clean."

He later shared 45 minute hack to make someone more productive and wrote: "The 45 minute hack you can use to make you more productive, eliminate any unwanted feeling, behaviour or emotion. It WORKS and you already know about it."

BBC viewers were gutted to hear the news of Amanda's departure from the show and took to social media at the time to comment. One stated: "Oh no they were my favourite. So much love to Amanda and Gio." A second typed: "Very sad news for Amanda and Giovanni, they will be missed but health comes first x." While a third posted: "Sending lots of love – gutted for them and she was one of my faves."
