Strictly: Amy Dowden features in opening titles
Amy Dowden has returned to the Strictly Come Dancing studios ahead of tonight’s show following the Welsh dancer’s surprise appearance on the opening show titles.
The 33-year-old is currently undergoing her fifth cycle of chemotherapy after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in the spring.
However, in pictures obtained by The Mirror she was all smiles as she arrived at Elstree Studios ahead of this evening’s show.
In the pictures, Amy wore a dark denim dress and a headscarf.
The professional dancer announced earlier this year that she wouldn’t be competing with a celebrity due to her ongoing cancer battle, but will no doubt be guest of honour tonight.

Last week, the star took to her Instagram to share images with the dancers before the first results show which saw Les Dennis and his pro partner Nancy Xu eliminated.
She wrote: “I was lucky to be able to be there for tonight’s opening number a few weeks back and all I can say is WOW! What another incredible number created by @jasongilkison.”
“It’s moments like this I need right now, escaping me from my now-at-the-moment reality and I’m so thankful to the entire @bbcstrictly for this!” she exclaimed unable to contain her excitement.
“Hoping to be back with the gang real soon!” she added. (sic)
She then went on to address her recent health woes, which saw her contract sepsis in August due to a weakened immune system from chemotherapy.

“There’s no text book or right/ wrong way to deal with your cancer journey,” she opined.
“Everyone deals with it rightly their way. I’m so lucky to be surrounded by so much support which I don’t take for granted and days like here is what keeps me going.”
Sharing her hopes of returning to the Strictly dancefloor shortly, Amy wrote: “I’m dreaming every night of dancing on that floor again but right now I’m my fellow pros’ proudest and biggest cheerleader.
Another celebrity will leave the show this weekend with Nikita Kanda currently favourite at 4/5 in the betting with Jody Cundy close behind at 3/1 ahead of Adam Thomas (6/1) and Krishnan Guru-Murthy (6/1).
