Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) was left heartbroken at the end of tonight’s Emmerdale, as she was forced to say goodbye to son Kyle (Huey Quinn).
Last night, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) made the decision that Kyle would be better off living with Amy, as he was afraid that his own behaviour had influenced Kyle’s violent tendencies.
Tonight saw the parents put this plan into action, as they planned for Amy and Kyle to move back to Belfast.
However, things weren’t going to be as simple as that, with Kyle deciding that he didn’t want to go.
With Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) also against the move, Amy was left to have a difficult conversation with Kyle about what he really wanted.
Kyle admitted that he didn’t want to leave Isaac and the rest of his family behind, and that moving away wasn’t going to change who he was.
He went on to explain how he and Cain do activities together, like fixing cars and making dens out of hay.
It seemed that Kyle’s words had an impact on Amy, as they headed back to Butlers farm to break the news that Kyle would be staying.
At first Cain seemed apprehensive, but Amy soon made it clear that Kyle had shown that he had grown up, and was capable of making his own decisions.
She admitted that it felt like they were punishing Kyle for their failings, and that that didn’t feel right.
Ultimately, Cain was won over, and Kyle was allowed to stay.
It was then that Amy left, and ended up breaking down outside the front door.
How will Amy cope not having full custody of Kyle?
And will Kyle really end up following in Cain’s footsteps, or will he turn his life around?
