A husband and wife were left flabbergasted on Sunday's (July 30) instalment of Antiques Roadshow after their item was valued at £200,000.

Hosted by Fiona Bruce, the episode was recorded at 17th century Jacobean mansion Ham House in Richmond upon Thames.

The venue, owned by the National Trust has been used as a setting in numerous films and television shows including Sense and Sensibilty and Downton Abbey.

Examining a Chinese imperial robe, expert Lee Young began: "There are those moments in life you always remember – and I will certainly always remember standing here the first time I saw this spectacular robe.

"I want to know everything that you know," he told its owners.

One guest explained that it was brought to the UK "probably in the early 1930s" by Sarah's (his wife) grandfather who was general manager of the standard bank in India.
