BBC Breakfast star Carol Kirkwood shut down Naga Munchetty as she declared her claims were "absolute nonsense" on Thursday (August 24).
The meteorologist, 61, shared the latest weather reports with viewers across the country during the latest instalment of the morning programme.
While Naga, 48, teamed up with usual co-host Charlie Stayt, 61, to present the top news headlines of the day.
After Carol finished her first weather report, confirming Brits can expect plenty of rain over the next few days, Naga asked when the hot weather is returning to the UK.
The Scottish star said the hotter temperatures could make a comeback at the end of next week as Naga responded: "Is that a promise?"
No, of course it's not," replied Carol. "You know me better than that!"
Later in the programme, the BBC Radio 5 Live presenter was back to her old tricks as she reintroduced Carol to viewers for her next weather report.
"Good morning, Carol. Now, you've predicted a heatwave at the end of next week… Did you see Carol's eye widen then?," Naga laughed as she tapped Charlie on the arm.
"Absolute nonsense!," Carol could be heard saying in the background.
As the blonde beauty laughed and shook her head, the news anchor continued: "Well they're probably narrowed. She's cross!"
Naga continued: "Heatwave next week and not a drop of rain this weekend, yes?"
The weathercaster let out a huge laugh as she shut her co-star down once and for all, responding: "Only in your dreams Naga because sadly that is wrong!"
The playful interactions continued throughout the episode, with Carol branding Naga "so naughty" after she made a joke about her name.
