BBC Breakfast star Naga Munchetty was stunned when her co-host Charlie Stayt demanded she "cheer up" as they presented together on Thursday (February 2).

The duo regularly sit on the red sofa from Thursday until Saturday and today, began discussing which day of the week people feel "most miserable" on.

Charlie, 62, simply stated: "It's not Thursday, so cheer up."

Naga, 47, was visibly shocked at the brutal swipe as assured her co-star she was feeling perfectly fine on this Thursday morning.

Nervously laughing, she responded: "Oh! Okay. I'm happy!"

The newsreader revealed the day in question is actually Tuesday.

"It's always been Tuesday," Naga agreed as she moved on from the brutal swipe. "My theory was, when I worked a five day week, was Monday you started and then you thought, 'OK, I'll just get through this.'

"But when you got to Tuesday, you're like, 'I'm just as tired and I still have four more days to go.' So that's why Tuesday was always the worst day for me."

When Charlie questioned why middle day Wednesday isn't involved in the debate, Naga noted it's because you're "over the hump".

This comes after the duo's BBC Breakfast co-star Nina Warhurst announced she would be co-hosting the official BBC Eurovision podcast.

Nina revealed Swedish Eurovision presenter and winner Måns Zelmerlöw will also be joining her on the podcast.

The mother of two told Jon Kay and Sally Nugent that she is making it her "mission" to change people's minds about Eurovision.

"I am on a mission to convince people, the snearers, because most of my life people have laughed at me for how much I love Eurovision," Nina explained. "This is the year that people will realise they have been wrong, for all of these decades!"
