BBC Breakfast viewers could practically feel the icicles forming in the air on Wednesday (August 24) as things turned frosty between Jon Kay and Tina Daheley.
The pair were tasked with interviewing Countdown host Colin Murray, and had been given a selection of conundrums to solve throughout the morning programme – though they weren't having much luck.
Jon branded himself "thick" as the hosts squinted at an anagram of 'newspaper' which had them both baffled.

But when Colin arrived on the scene, Jon turned his attention to Tina.
Tasked with an anagram of 'breakfast' this time, Colin had the answer within seconds, as Jon asked: "What?! We should have got that," as Tina begged: "Can we do another?"
An incredulous Jon mimicked her: "Can we do another? There's no second chances on Countdown!"
Colin informed them: "You scored zero, by the way, which only three Countdown contestants in 40 years have managed to do, so I'm going to put you on that list now."
Things only turned more awkward as Colin invited the pair over to the Countdown studio "around the corner" from the Breakfast set, informing them: "I mean, we'd never have you as contestants."
Tina insisted: "I'm actually struggling to see. I can't really see…" but Jon quickly interrupted her: "Could you see your cheat sheet?"
Furious with her co-host for outing her secrets, Tina fumed: "It's not a cheat sheet! It didn't give me much help, did it?"
She had been writing down the letters with pen and paper to try and make sense of the anagrams, but still couldn't quite get her head around the mixed letters.

Tina suggested she could take up a place in Dictionary Corner instead, as they tried out another conundrum, this time spelling 'Countdown'.
Colin, however, failed to get the correct answer as he giggled: "I just didn't see it at all!"
Jon delighted in the "job swap" which meant he got to introduce the conundrum rather than Colin, hinting that he might have his eye on a Countdown role in future.
BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One.
