Eamonn Holmes’ admission came about as he discussed Meghan Markle’s podcast on Wednesday’s GB News. Speaking with Kinsey Scholfield about the Duchess of Sussex’s latest interview with Serena Williams, the former This Morning host beamed as he said Princess Diana had the “longest legs” he’s ever seen.

“I just love how sincere and sweet she was,” Kinsey told the hosts when speaking about Princess Diana. “She’s my favourite girl.”

“Very good, I met her once,” Eamonn replied. “So you would have been too young to have met her.

“She honestly was the most stunning woman I have ever seen.

“She can walk into a room and her legs were so long. You saw her legs before you saw anything else.”

He continued: “And she headed straight for me…we talked for 20 minutes and then abruptly she turned and she went.

“And I thought, ‘That was amazing’ and her lady in waiting said to me, ‘She never talks to anybody that long, she liked you.’

“But she liked David Hasselhoff more because when he came into the room she was gone.”

“That Baywatch body,” Kinsey joked before Eamonn admitted: “That’s not the whole story.”

Eamonn also spoke about Meghan Markle’s podcast and her claims about a fire starting in her son, Archie’s bedroom.

The Duchess explained at the time, that she felt she couldn’t continue on the tour with Prince Harry because she felt like a “bad mum”.

Eamonn said: “People what we’re talking about is she [Meghan] was off doing something…her duty somewhere and the nanny who was looking after little Archie, smelled smoke upstairs.

“I don’t know what it was, but it wasn’t a fire as such.

“But anyway, the baby wasn’t in the room, and there was no harm, thank goodness.

“She got back and she felt she couldn’t continue because she’s a bad mum because she was away from her child, and she felt that she couldn’t continue doing the tour.

“Except the difference was that she was a royal and the tour was her duty, and she was asked to continue with another appointment.

“I think I’m right in saying, Kinsey, that she felt that she couldn’t and shouldn’t have been asked to appear at another engagement.”

Hitting out at the Duchess, Kinsey replied: “Correct. She thought that it was ridiculous that she was expected to continue with the tour.

“I mean, we’re approaching the 25th anniversary of Princess Diana’s devastating death.

“And we know that Diana was defiant and Diana when she didn’t want to do engagements, she told Prince Charles, ‘No.’

“There are speeches where he admits that she’s not there and he’s sorry that she couldn’t make it.

“You know, Meghan could have told them, ‘No!’ and that she was refusing to go because there are examples of royals before her that did the exact same thing.”

Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel airs weekdays at 6am on GB News.
