Strictly Come Dancing's Dianne Buswell has shared a message from her dad after he was forced to miss attending Saturday's live show (December 2) due to chemotherapy treatment.

The 34-year-old dancer recently confirmed her dad was unwell and later revealed plans for her family to come visit her in the UK had been put on hold. Dianne, who is paired with EastEnders star Bobby Brazier on the BBC show, has now shared a sweet update from her dad as he wished her luck ahead of the next round of the Strictly Come Dancing competition.

In the video, which Dianne re-shared to her social media on Saturday, Mark wished his daughter and Bobby "all the best" for their next performance.

He added: "We are both very proud of you and hope you make it through for the next week. Just try your best, and I know you will, and enjoy it. Love Mum and Dad."

Besides the video clip, Dianne vowed to "try her very best" as the competition enters Movie Week. She wrote in the caption: "Woke up to this Marks upped his msg game this week and done a little recording."

Dianne continued: "This was the week my parents were going to be in the audience…however dad says it’s a good thing he’s not because back in the day my dad's nickname was Patrick Swayze as he looked so similar to him and dad didn’t want the attention off Bobby."

The dancer signed-off her post by writing: "Love ya dad I’m going to try my very best as always in my concert tonight! Hopefully it’s enough to make it to the semi-final concert @mark.3802."

After sharing her father's message, Dianne was inundated with support in the comments section from fellow Strictly pros. Vito Coppola posted a string of love-heart emojis, while former contestant Fleur East wrote: "You go and smash that concert! Ha ha love it! What a sweet man xx."

After sharing her father's message of support with fans, Dianne then took to her Instagram Story and posted a sweet message from her nan wishing her luck.

She captioned the short video clip: "And then this from nan! I am feeling the love", followed by a love heart emoji.

For Saturday Movie Week special, Dianne and Bobby will be doing a Salsa to (I've Had) The Time Of My Life from Dirty Dancing.
