Hollywood icon Jeff Bridges left The One Show viewers feeling emotional tonight after opening up on his two-year battle with cancer.

Jeff, famous for movie hits such as The Dude and The Big Lebowski, joined hosts Alex Jones and Jermain Jenas to promote his new show The Old Man, but viewers were far more taken with his “amazing” story of survival.

When asked about his journey through chemotherapy, Jeff, 72, told viewers: “Right in the middle of shooting the old man, the pandemic broke out and we shut down and during that time I found I had a 9x12inch tumour in my body.

“They found a great chemo cocktail for me and that worked beautiful for me but it stripped me of my immune system.

“When covid hit, man, I had nothing to fight it so it put me in the hospital for a long time. I was down for two years.”

He went on to say that being away for so long was like a “bizzarre dream” and he now knows “how wonderful it is to be alive.”

But fans became even more taken by his story when he explained that he worked with a trainer to find the strength to walk his daughter down the aisle.

“I had little goals, let’s see if I can turn over in bed without my oxygen,” he said.

“As I progressed my most important goal was I wanted to walk my daughter Hayley down the aisle and I didn’t think I could do it.

“I had my oxygen tank u my nose. But I had some wonderful trainers. You never know what life has in store for you.”

Fans immediately gushed over the star’s incredible story.
