On Sunday, BBC’s procedural drama Bloodlands landed on screens for a new instalment of the crime series. Despite the gripping storyline, viewers were left distracted by a character’s outfit choices and took to Twitter to comment on the “wardrobe malfunction” which took place during a scene on a golf course.
The latest episode picked up right after last week’s shock ending, which saw DC Billy ‘Birdy’ Bird (played by Chris Walley) meet his death.
The ambitious officer was killed in his car after Olivia Foyle (Victoria Smurfit) used DCI Tom Brannick’s (James Nesbitt) gun to pull the trigger.
She had the highly sought-after gold and was on the run which left the corrupt Brannick out of options.
The recent episode saw the two meet after a fierce confrontation resulted in the officer trying to divert attention away from Olivia.
However, Brannick was unaware his colleague DS Niamh McGovern (Charlene McKenna) was growing more suspicious.
In order for Brannick to shift the police’s attention, he demanded a cut of the gold and the gun that was used to kill Birdy.
He wanted it to secure his daughter Izzy Brannick’s (Lola Petticrew) future, but the menacing American Ryan Savage (Jonjo O’Neil) also had his eye on it.
Olivia interrupted his game of golf to discuss the gold but as their conversation became tense, viewers were distracted by his outfit.
The mob boss sported a thick sweatshirt which left fans questioning if was the correct attire to wear while playing golf.
As a result, viewers took to Twitter to raise their concerns including @juliebrenn45 who wrote: “Wardrobe malfunction on the golf course… A sweatshirt.”
@mcmstg questioned: “What golf club allows sweatshirts?”
However, Ryan wasn’t the only one who had his outfit questioned as fans also slammed Olivia’s choices.

As she stepped foot on the grass it became clear that her gold heel wasn’t suitable for golf as she wiped her wiped the soles of her shoes.
While wearing a long winter coat, Olivia also had a swing of the bat as they continued to discuss business.
A third viewer @WendySm16506738 remarked: “One player wearing a sweatshirt, the other in golden heels. The golf club committee won’t be amused.”
@nth09 added: “Sweatshirt and the club pro allowing some random person who has just wandered onto the course to use his clubs. Suspension of all reality!”
Ryan came from a Boston crime family, who had originally stolen the gold for the IRA and wanted the whole thing back.
Things also took a shocking turn for Brannick as he learned Birdy was dating his daughter Izzy.
With his handgun used to kill the young officer, this could have a catastrophic impact on his relationship with Izzy as well as his career.
Brannick learned they had planned to tell him about their relationship when Birdy cancelled last minute, just moments before he was found dead.
