Bob violently attacks Liam in Emmerdale with terrifying consequences

Things are set to go from bad to worse for Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) in upcoming Emmerdale episodes as the fallout from his discovery of Wendy (Susan Cookson) and Liam (Jonny McPherson)’s affair leads him to commit a violent act.

Bob was recently devastated to find out that his partner Wendy had been having an affair with local GP Liam for several months. Despite Wendy’s protestations that it was Bob she truly loved, he couldn’t forgive her for betraying him.

Wendy and Liam’s affair started over a shared love of murder mysteries. Wendy helped Liam write his latest story and a bit of dressing up for an online awards ceremony led to some hanky-panky on the examination couch in the surgery – with more passion ensuing in the following weeks.

Meanwhile Bob was having a wine tasting session at the B&B with Bernice (Samantha Giles). Under the influence of wine and the allure of his co-worker, Bob was sorely tempted to stray but, unlike Wendy, managed to resist – something he made sure Wendy was aware of after she admitted to her own affair.

In upcoming episodes Wendy realises that Bob is never going to believe she’s ended things with Liam while she’s still working at the GP practice, so she heads over to Liam’s house to hand in her resignation. She’s hoping it will draw a line under things and she can start to mend her relationship with Bob.

Bob, meanwhile, is in a foul mood and taking his anger out on Archie (Kai Assi), who’s been annoying him by playing football next to the B&B. Bob kicks the ball away in a temper – and then notices Wendy and Liam leaving Liam’s house together.

Certain that this means their affair is still going on he marches over – and punches Liam in the face. We’ve seen in Emmerdale recently what damage a single punch can do to someone, after Dan (Liam Fox) punched creepy staler Lloyd (Matt Sutton) and currently faces a prison sentence as a result of the injuries he inflicted.

In Bob’s case, however, Liam isn’t seriously hurt – but the watching villagers are horrified when Bob has a heart attack and collapses in the street. He has to be rushed to hospital by ambulance.

As they anxiously wait for news, both Wendy and Liam feel terrible about what’s happened and they blame themselves.

Will Bob pull through?
