The Crown has transformed the streets of London into the city of Chicago after filming for the new series recently took place.
Canary Wharf, which is situated in the centre of the capital, was made to look like the Illinois location with the help of clever props and costumes.
One onlooker described the financial district as “the Windy City,” while others looked at the parade in amazement as the “president” made his way through London’s streets.

American-style police cars lined the pavements and actors dressed in U.S. police uniforms guarded the vehicles.
One officer could be seen sporting a blue shirt, navy blue trousers, black shoes, a radio on his shoulder and a sheriff’s badge on his front.
Props dotted around the streets helped to make Canary Wharf feel like the heart of Chicago, surrounded by hotdog stands, silver phone boxes and Greyhound-style coaches.
A sign by the side of the road was covered with directions to further immerse viewers into the mock-Chicago set.
The sign, which was emblazoned with the Chicago Transport System logo, read: “Michigan/Ida B Wells Drive.”
It explained that bus number 146’s destination was the Museum Campus, running from the morning to the early evening.
Number 62 ran to Harlem “daily, at all times” while 143 ran to Stockton/Michigan Express during weekdays.
A black car carried “the U.S. president” and was surrounded by police officers on motorcycles, wearing black leather outfits and bright blue helmets.
The pictures come as The Crown continues filming for its sixth season after production began back in September 2022.
It launched back in 2016 and has faced criticism throughout its five season run, receiving backlash for scenes with Prince Charles and the Prime Minister John Major as they plotted against the Queen.
Show creator Peter Morgan previously intended season five to be the show’s final run, but a surprise change of heart has left eager viewers with one more instalment.
The final series will follow on from the events in season five – namely the explosive divorce between Charles and Diana – and will begin with the Princess of Wales’ untimely death in 1997.
Viewers will then follow the royal family’s lives into the 21st century.
