Christopher Biggins has quit acting after more than 50 years.
The TV legend has had roles in a string of iconic TV shows over the years – but he’s decided he doesn’t want to do any more. The 74-year-old said: “My acting days are done. I don’t want to do it any more. I can’t learn all the lines. It’s a strain as you get older. It’s a lot of effort being an actor. It’s boring. ”
Christopher’s most famous roles include Lukewarm in Porridge and Nero in I, Claudius. The star also appeared in Some Mothers Do ’Ave ’Em, Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads? and Upstairs, Downstairs. He said: “It’s fantastic to have done so much. Things I’ve done like Porridge and I, Claudius are still being shown on TV now. That’s great.”
