Coronation Street fans went wild on Monday night as they recognised Daisy Midgeley's estranged mother, Christina, as Emmerdale star Amy Robbins.
During the latest episode, Daisy, played by Charlotte Jordan, was left stunned as her estranged mother, Christina, showed up on the cobbles unannounced.
Prior to the reveal, Jenny Connor showed stepdaughter Daisy another bouquet delivery with her name on it and the latter was seriously unnerved when her phone rung with an unknown number.
Later, Daisy was sure that the mysterious phone calls she had been receiving were from an online admirer, Justin, who she had previously spoke to in a hospital waiting room a few weeks ago.
However, when Justin called at the Rovers and asked Daisy if she liked the flowers, she was quick to ask if he was behind the calls to which he denied ringing her phone.
A dumbstruck Daisy then decided to ring the number that has been calling her and was shocked when her estranged mum Christina walked in with her phone ringing.
In upcoming scenes, Daisy makes it clear she wants to keep her mum at arm’s length, so how will she react when fiancé Daniel Osbourne plots to make peace between the pair ahead of the wedding?
Viewers were quick to instantly recognise Christina star Amy Robbins from her previous soap roles, where she played Defence Barrister Milligan on Emmerdale in 2022 during the Meena Jutla court case and Caren on EastEnders in 2019.
Taking to Twitter, one person said: "I recognise Amy Robbins playing Daisy's mum in #Corrie – she's been in a number of things."
A different account put: "Daisy's mum last seen on #Emmerdale as Meena Jutla's barrister #corrie."
Another viewer wrote: "#Corrie Brilliant! Amy Robbins is Daisy 's mum."
A different fan said: "Can’t wait to see @AmyRobbins171 back on my screen making her debut in tonight’s #Corrie, playing Daisy ’s mum Christina. Looking forward to delving deeper into Daisy ’s past. @CharlieJordanxo is brilliant."
While another soap watcher tweeted: "Is Daisy ’s mum a Robbins: Didn’t she play a lawyer recently? #Corrie" with another account replying: "Amy Robbins, didn't she play a solicitor on Emmerdale?"
Coronation Street continues on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and ITVX.
