Coronation Street star admits fears of being axed in brutal serial killer storyline | The Sun

CORONATION Street actress Jodie Prenger has admitted that she fears she could be axed from the show as part of the current serial killer storyline.

The actress, who plays Glenda Shuttleworth on the ITV soap, confessed she is fearful that the evil Stephen Reid could turn on her character which could mean she is sent packing from the cobbles.

Jodie spoke to Digital Spy about the current plot and how fans might see Glenda as one of Stephen's next victims.

The West End star said: "Glenda has never liked him – ever since he took that £10 note! She clocks it, doesn't she?

"I think Glenda goes on a gut reaction and I don't think she thinks he's good news.

"But the sad thing is, [in real life] he's one of the nicest people! Everybody asks that."

Jodie went onto admit that all the cast face worry that they might meet their end at the hands of the killer, saying: "Yeah, of course it's a worry – because you don't know what's going to happen! Imagine if he gets me? Everyone would have to say: 'Glenda was right!"

The actress joined the show last year and has settled into life on Coronation Street with ease.

She arrived as the brother of funeral director George Shuttleworth and soon found her place behind the bar of the Rovers Return.
