Tyson Fury’s son shares fear he’ll ‘never get back up again’ after fight

At Home With The Furys teased in Netflix trailer

At Home With The Furys has given Tyson Fury fans an inside look into the boxer’s chaotic life since retiring in 2021.

The Netflix series’ final episode showed the preparation for Tyson’s fight against Derek Chisora in December, he ultimately won.

Watching on in the audience was Tyson’s wife Paris Fury, his daughter Venezuela, 13, and his eldest son Prince John James, 10.

Also, sitting front row was Tyson’s dad John Fury and half-brother and Love Island star Tommy Fury.

Prince shared his fears over watching his dad’s boxing matches, knowing it could be his last after just one wrong punch.

He said: “Sometimes I was kind of getting scared because at any moment my dad could get knocked out.

“If it was bad, he could never get up and that’s what scares me.”

The show then cut to snippets of the fight, where John James could be seen putting his hands over his ears in fear while shouting: “Come on get him down.”

Tyson luckily won by a technical knockout in the tenth round, with most commentators concluding that Fury was dominant throughout the match.

The referee stopped the fight in the tenth round after concluding that Chisora was unable to defend himself effectively.

Despite not winning, Chisora did receive praise for being “tough” and standing up to the WBC heavyweight champion.

Fury announced his retirement after winning against Dillian Whyte in 2021 in a post-ring interview, with the official announcement coming in August last year when he relinquished his Ring title.

He only returned to fight Chisora to defend his WBC title and will fight Francis Ngannou in October, but this will not have his title at stake.

Tyson has previously spoken out about his fear of retiring due to boxing being very important for keeping his mental health on track.

He told Behind The Gloves: “I can’t walk away and maybe there’s somebody out there like a doctor or psychologist or somebody who could really help me, because I think I’m going to need mental help to let go of this thing.

“If you asked me today, ‘What are you boxing for?’ I don’t have any goals or ambitions to box.

“I’m boxing because I feel like I need boxing within me, to keep my sanity. I’m fighting for survival every day.”

At Home with the Furys is available to watch on Netflix from August 16.
