Coronation Street favourite Ellie Leach will reportedly soon be bidding farewell to the cobbles as she brings to an end her 12 year run on the popular ITV soap.
During her time on the show, Ellie has seen her character Faye Windass at the heart of some huge storylines which included a teenage pregnancy and undergoing an early menopause.
Most recently, the star has been embroiled in an ongoing storyline which has seen her reunite with her daughter Miley, who she previously surrendered to Miley’s dad Jackson as she wasn’t ready – or willing – to be a mother to the youngster.
Ellie is expected to leave the soap as part of one of this summer’s storylines, although details so far have remained a closely guarded secret.
One crucial detail however, is that Faye will apparently not be killed off, leaving the door open to the star should she wish to return in the future.
A source toldThe Sun:"Ellie’s been on the soap since she was 10 years old so it’s all she’s known, she sees the cast like an extension of her family. She’s sad to be leaving, but grateful that her character won’t be killed off.
"She’s going to have a go at trying other acting roles for a bit.”
ITV declined to comment when approached by OK!
Back in 2021, Ellie told The Mirror she couldn't believe she had been on the show for a decade, as she admitted: "It is crazy to think it is 10 years. It has gone so fast but I also feel like I have been there my whole life,” she told the publication.
“For what time I can remember, Corrie has been my life. As a child, you just can’t believe it. You don’t really know at that age what is happening," she said.
"I definitely didn’t imagine I would still be here 10 years later. I am the type who doesn’t like to think too far into the future.”
Away from the Cobbles, Ellie is a big fan of travelling and lives a loved up life with her boyfriend of five years, Reagan Pettman, a model and dancer.
The loved up pair regularly post sweet snaps together and Reagan recently posted a heartfelt message for his girlfriend’s birthday in which he wrote, “I’m so lucky to have you. I love you so much beautiful.”
Ellie was forced to deny she was engaged to her beau in January 2023 after a string of loved up posts from their New Year’s Eve holiday to Tenerife convinced fans the two were set to tie the knot.
Fans mistook one picture, of Ellie in a flowing white top, for a veil and another said they were “expecting a proposal at the end of them pics.”
However, Ellie – who is often said to look wildly different to the character she plays – rushed to deny the speculation and jokingly replied, “hahaha not quite.”
