The outcome of terrorist Blake’s (Adam Little) sentencing has been revealed in Coronation Street, following Alya Nazir’s (Sair Khan) powerful victim statement.
Alya was stabbed in Speed Daal several weeks ago, after lunging in front of Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) who had been Blake’s intended target.
Blake was then arrested, where he cited Max Turner’s (Paddy Bever) racist videos as his inspiration for the crime.
Max, who had been groomed into joining a far-right extremist group, claimed that he never intended to encourage violence with his videos.
Despite this, both lads were charged for the stabbing, and ultimately pleaded guilty in court.
Max’s sentencing came shortly after, and he received a ten month sentence, leaving dad David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) in pieces.
It was after this that Alya was persuaded to visit him in the STC, which ultimately inspired her to pen her powerful victim statement.
In her statement, she talked about how Blake’s attack had affected her, and gave a moving speech about how she is ‘not the outsider, he is.’
Alya made her way to court in tonight’s episode in order to deliver her statement to the judge.
Later, she met up with Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) and Maria in the Rovers to discuss the sentencing, and it was revealed that Blake would serve twelve years in prison.
Toyah encouraged Alya to put this behind her and move forward, and Alya agreed.
Will she be able to take that advice, or will the effects of the stabbing continue to haunt her?
