Corrie exit story revealed for Summer as she makes major decision?

Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) has faced a very dramatic year on Coronation Street, but, after a big decision in tonight’s episode (January 20), she may be set to leave for an easier life.

The youngster has just come out of hospital, after being kidnapped by Mike (Tom Lorcan), the man she had planned to be a surrogate for with wife Esther (Vanessa Hehir).

Having been diagnosed with diabetes last year, Summer ended up collapsing when Mike refused to give her insulin.

In a rage, father figures Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) and Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) followed Mike back to his house, where Paul ended up attacking him.

However, knowing that Paul may end up in prison for the crime thanks to his previous convictions, Todd took the blame and handed himself over to police instead.

There was good news tonight when Mike dropped the charges against Todd and Summer, who he had accused of fraud over the money they gave her for the baby she miscarried.

With a new, more positive outlook on things, Summer sat Todd, Paul and Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) down for a serious discussion. She even pulled out the posh crisps. (Sea salt and wine vinegar, if you’re wondering.)

It was then that she made the announcement that she had made the decision to reapply for university, which left her three dads thrilled.

So, could this be the beginning of the end for Summer’s character? Will she make the move away from Coronation Street to pursue her education?

We can only wait and see…
