Coronation Street viewers predict that it could be the end for Johnny Connor as he attempted to save his ex-lover Jenny Bradley from an enormous sink hole.

Through the midst of all the chaos that was taking place on the famous cobbles on Wednesday night, Johnny realised that Jenny was no where to be found.

After doing some investigating, he quickly realised that Jenny had fallen down one of the gaping holes that had emerged on the street.

Being the brave man that he is, Johnny attempted to see if he could potentially save the landlady. But viewers suspected that Johnny might die in the process.

Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: "Johnny will save Jenny and die."

Another agreed and commented: "I reckon Johnny dies."

Meanwhile a third spectator said: "I've a feeling Johnny won't make it past this. Poor Carla and Jenny."

"Hate to imagine Jenny's guilt if Johnny were to actually die saving her, especially given literally anyone can see he never really wanted to let her go. He just didn't want her forced to spend her life with a old man," a fourth explained.

Corrie fans will have to wait until Friday's episode to discover if Johnny makes his way out from the hole in one peice.

According to Coronation Street spoilers, despite dropping a number of feet, Jenny is still alive and Johnny is able to find her.

Talking about her character's ordeal further, Sally Ann Matthews who plays Jenny teased what will potentially take place next.

Speaking to Metro, the actress said: "She’s terrified, injured and cold. She has this overwhelming sense that someone must come and rescue me. She knows that Leo is on the case so is confident initially that she will be found.

"When Johnny arrives, she’s like what the bloody hell are you doing here. It forces them to discuss how they feel."

She added: "When you’re in a situation like that, you have to pull together. You have to help each other and keep each other’s spirits up. One will flag a bit, the other bolsters them up."
