The new owner of Coronation Street’s iconic Rovers Return has been accidentally revealed by star Claire Sweeney.
Last month the iconic pub was forced to close after landlady Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) found herself strapped for cash. Struggling to keep the business afloat she ended up signing the pub over to Newton & Ridley.
But in a devastating blow, that company was then sold to another company, Waterford Incorporated. And the bosses there were quick to kick Jenny and her staff out.

And to make things worse for Jenny, she was told in a meeting by a Waterfords boss that she would “never be employed” by the company again. The boss fumed: “There wasn't much control of the stock last night. You and your friends had pretty much drunk the place dry. You're lucky we don't bill you for the costs.
He went on: “Neither you nor any members of your staff will ever be employed by Waterfords ever again. And if I see you on the premises, I will call the police." Since then the pub has remained closed, with the windows bordered up. But this month, Corrie producer Iain MacLeod revealed when it’ll be back up and running.
The boss said the business will be open in a matter of months. “It’s not going to stay closed for that long, in fact, it reopens on New Year’s Eve I think,” he said.
However, it appears the brand new owner has now been leaked via a social media blunder. Corrie star Claire Sweeney, who plays Cassie Plummer made the gaffe earlier this week. Claire is getting ready for her stint on Dancing On Ice later in the year. Taking to her Instagram, the actress shared a snap of her with her dance partner Colin Grafton in front of the iconic pub.

But behind Claire and Colin, Jenny Connor’s name can be seen above the door. The blunder has seemed to confirm Jenny will be back working at the pub. Meanwhile Claire is getting ready for her appearance on this year’s Dancing On Ice. Speaking to The Sun, she said: "I'm really looking forward to going to an ice rink with my son and actually being able to skate and not have to use the penguins they give you to help you stay upright!"
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV! and ITVX at 8pm
