Corrie’s Bethany Platt star Lucy Fallon returns to filming with ‘brand-new look’

Coronation Street legend Lucy Fallon has returned to filming on the cobbles as her character Bethany Platt made an iconic return and has a “brand new look”.

After three years away, Lucy is now back filming with her co-stars although it is unknown what storyline her character might get mixed up in.

Lucy was seen in a short video posted to the soap’s official Instagram page where she revealed it was her first day back filming, and she looked completely different to when she was last on the cobbles.

The actress said in the clip: “Hello everyone it's me, Bethany. It's my first day back filming today. I am very excited, a little bit nervous, but I can't wait for you all to see what Bethany is up to. Bye!”

The soap captioned the video: “Look who's back! Bethany returns with a whole new look. Watch out for her arrival on screen towards the end of the year.”

Lucy could be seen wearing her blonde hair in a low pony tail, paired with a multicoloured jumped and a maroon skirt. She accessorised with a number of chinky rings, a huge chain necklace and some hooped earings.

Fans rushed to the comments to express their excitement for the stars return, and to speculate what her storyline might involve.

One Corrie fan commented: “Love her!! Can’t wait to see her back onscreen”, while anotheradded: “Yessssss she is back finally I'm so happy”.

A third said: “She'll get with Daniel and Daisey will get with Ryan… I also want her jumper”, while another added: “i feel she’s back to cause trouble can’t wait x”.

“I am super excited to see Bethany return she and the platts are my favourite characters can't wait to see the platt family complete and together again can't wait!!!”, another added.

Bethany Platt left Weatherfield in 2020 after five years when she took a magazine internship in London.

When Lucy left Corrie, she told OK! that she would "never say never" about going back on the show. The actress said: "I’d never say never because Bethany didn’t die. I didn’t leave because I didn’t enjoy it, I left because I felt like if I didn’t leave now and try to experience life, I would never leave.

"That wouldn’t be a bad thing, but I didn’t want to get to ten years down the line and think, 'I should have gone for a couple of years to experience other things.'"
