Judi Love has tears in her eyes on Pride of Britain: A Windrush Special

Loose Women star Judi Love broke down in tears while speaking to a man named Guy about being part of the Windrush generation for Pride of Britain: A Windrush Special.

The ITV documentary, in partnership with Pride of Britain, follows the story of the Windrush generation 75 years after the Empire Windrush ship arrived at Tilbury Docks.

Within the programme, members of the generation shared their stories with the likes of Sir Trevor McDonald, Alesha Dixon, Mel B, Judi and The Prince of Wales.

They each gave eye-opening insights into what happened to those 500,000 people who arrived in Britain between 1948 and 1971 to work in the NHS and on transport networks.

After listening to Guy’s story about not being able to become a bus driver due to the colour of his skin, Loose Women star Judi tearfully said: “That is quite upsetting because it’s that same narrative of black men and black women being seen as quite threatening.”

They were sitting in a theatre watching archived footage of white people being outwardly racist about the Windrush generation.

After being taken aback by the insulting clips, Guy emotionally told Judi: “My heart moans every time I have seen these. I shed tears inside, it’s hard to live with.”

Tears were falling down Judi’s face as he was talking before she said: “From my heart, it hurts my heart to even have to hear you say that it hurts you.”

“It’s very difficult,” Guy admitted as Judi leaned over to give him a hug and kiss on the cheek.

Viewers took to Twitter to comment on the moving documentary, with one fan writing: “I cried listening to Guy’s life story too Judi.

“Guy wanted to be a bus driver and they wouldn’t allow him because of the colour of his skin.

“So pleased people marched on the streets to boycott against the buses and discrimination laws came about. I cried like Judi.”

Another user wrote: “The Windrush scandal – unforgivable!#PrideofBritain.”
