Coronation Street star Samia Longchambon has been crowned the winner of Cooking With The Stars, beating Mysterious Girl singer Peter Andre to first place.

The ITV show featured a range of celebrities for its 2023 version, including former Corrie actress Samia, TV personality, Peter, ex-boxer, Chris Eubank, and Gavin & Stacey actress, Joanna Page.

The contestants are paired with a cooking professional and go through eight rounds of cheffing, as they try to impress the judges – the professional chefs – with their creations.

The judges never knew who's food they were tasting, which meant they could vote out their own celebrity protege that they had been mentoring.

The celebrity chefs and mentors included Rosemary Shrager, who was paired with Peter Andre, and French chef Jean-Christophe Novelli, who guided Samia to victory in the competition.

When the stars were narrowed down to the final three, Samia and Peter were joined by Joanna Page, as they battled it out to be crowned the winner.

Ultimately, it was Samia who won the trophy, and she took to Instagram to share a snap of herself holding it with Jean-Christophe Novelli.

Other snaps shared by the actress included her standing by herself in dark chefs' clothing as she beamed and put a thumbs up to the camera – clearly elated at her win.

In the caption, Samia wrote: "So proud to finally be able to say we won #cookingwiththestars.

"A million thank yous to @jeanchristophe_novelli for being the best mentor! It goes without saying I could not have done it without you, nor would I have wanted to!

"What an experience… dinners will never be the same in our house now."

Samia's followers rushed to offer their congratulations in the comments section, including her mum, Patsy Ghadie.

Patsy wrote: "To say I'm Proud Is an understatement, you did yourself proud Sam and Jeanchristofe, he was such a good mentor for you,…your dad was looking down on you, well done to you both xx."

Loose Women's Denise Welch commented: "So proud of you!!! Can’t wait to see what lies in store for our next Nibbles and Nails!!!"

Samia's fellow contestant Joanna Page was clearly not bitter at losing out to Samia, as she added her own sweet comment to the post.

It read: "Congratulations!!! It looked flipping amazing!! My god that was tense."

Samia's former Corrie co-star, Ryan Thomas, commented: "Wowwwwwwwww this amazing go on Sam."

Samia has long been an actress on Coronation Street, where she has played Maria O'Connor since 2000.

She has been married to Dancing on Ice professional skater Sylvain Longchambon since 2016, and the pair share a six year old son, Yves Joseph Longchambon.
