Gemma is the key to saving the Rovers but Ches isn’t happy in Corrie spoilers

Gemma Winter-Brown is key to saving Coronation Street's famous pub the Rovers Return, but her husband Ches is not happy about it, the show spoilers have revealed. In recent days landlady Jenny Bradley has shared her concerns about the finances at the pub.

During Monday's episode, things went from bad to worse for Jenny as she was told that the brewery would not buy the pub after looking at the books. Now heading into Wednesday's episode of the ITV soap, Jenny reveals to her stepdaughter Daisy Midgeley that a property developer is coming to value the pub.

All may not be lost for the pub as over in the Kabin, Steve McDonald and George Shuttleworth announce that they have set up a crowdfunding page to hopefully save the pub. George also has another idea, that given Gemma's history with brewery man Henry Newton, she could change his mind.

Later, Gemma heads to a hotel where she expects to be working on a cider promotion for the brewery, only to be told by Henry that there is no promotion. Instead, he just wanted some alone time with his ex-girlfriend, but how will Gemma react?

Gemma hasn't told Ches where she is going, but shortly after she leaves, George lets slip that Gemma is meeting Henry to try and win him over. The news leaves Chesney furious, and he makes his way over to the hotel to find his wife.

Later when the property developer arrives at the pub, Daisy breaks the news that Jenny has no option but to sell up. The news that they could be about to lose their local boozer leaves Steve and George gutted.

Elsewhere on the cobbles, murderer Stephen Reid comes face to face with Lou, the wife of one of his victims Rufus. Lou is at the factory to confide in Stephen and Carla Connor, and she tells them that the Coroner found that Rufus died by misadventure.

However, she feels like Rufus' drug-fueled death still doesn’t stack up, but Stephen tries to reassure her that it was a tragic accident.

The drama continues on the street as a troubled Adam Barlow returns dishevelled from his night out. Wanting to make his wife Sarah jealous, he tells Daniel Osbourne that he had a great night and didn't get much sleep.

Completing Wednesday's episode, young Eliza Woodrow confides in Sam Blakeman as she is worried that her mum will stop her from speaking to her dad, that she has just found. Could her fears be about to come true as her grandad Stu Carpenter rings the prison to tell her mum that Eliza has spoken to her dad?
