Dancing on Ice star Stephen Lustig-Webb has been left despondent after being spotted with his leg in bandages.

The Gogglebox star was announced to be taking part in the ITV ice skating competition just a matter of weeks ago. However, since his reveal on Lorraine Kelly's show, Stephen was forced to pull out of the show after sustaining a horrific injury that pushed him out of the competition.

Despite not going live on ITV until the new year, participants have been announced throughout autumn to give the celebrities and professionals enough time to train. Stephen would have been joining the likes of renowned boxer Ricky Hatton and comedian Lou Sanders on the upcoming edition of the show.

Stephen was seen leaving a coffee shop in his native Brighton on a pair of crutches with his left leg wrapped in copious amounts of bandages. Searing in pain, he was joined by husband Daniel, who kept his partner company as they walked home.

It comes just weeks after Stephen was confirmed to be appearing on the ITV competition, giving up his role on Channel 4 titan Gogglebox in order to take part. Speaking about the move from the show on Lorraine, Lustig-Webb explained that he wanted to try a variety of new things.

Lustig-Webb was one of the longest-running original cast members on the show that was still taking part. Previous Gogglebox stars left the show in order to pursue other careers, including co-stars George Gilbey and Sandi Bogle who left the show to appear on Celebrity Big Brother in 2014 and 2017 respectively.

"I think it's one of the biggest challenges on TV," he explained when he was revealed earlier this month. "It's a long job, five months of training and live shows, and I just wanted to get my teeth stuck into something different."

He joked when his name was confirmed to be on the line-up that he had not been on the ice since the age of 13 nearly forty years ago. Joking at the time, he said: "I have been back on the ice since, just for a quick spin round – I didn't fall over, so that's good!"

As a result, 11 celebrities now remain in the running to be crowned winner of the upcoming series of Dancing on Ice. The show will begin airing live next January on ITV1.
