David returns to a major crisis in Emmerdale as he fears for the future

David’s Shop has been a main stay of Emmerdale for years, but like the rest of the high street, is it about to go belly up?

The shop has been the sight of several thefts, it’s seen two women go into labour, and it’s had a van through the front window. It’s been bought and sold more times than David’s cheated on his girlfriends, and of course was the site of Maya’s disgusting seduction of teenage Jacob.

But this could be the end of the road for the infamous delicatessen.

David’s (Matthew Wolfenden) beloved business is in trouble as he returns to the village post-storm. Footfall has dropped dramatically and with the village in such a state, he’ll need to work hard to get things back to where they were.

Bernice (Samantha Giles) gives him some cold, hard truths that he needs to pull his finger out or face financial ruin – he’ll have to do what it takes to get customers back through the door.

David is nervous, what if he’s not up to the task? What if his business is beyond saving? Add to that the cost-of-living crisis, David has a battle on his hands. Could this see him give up on the business altogether?

Bernice comes forward with a suggestion to help save Emmerdale and get it back on its feet, but will it be enough to save the beloved farmers shop?

And if her suggestion is that they go into business together, will David even want to save it?
