EastEnders star James Farrar has issued a tongue-in-cheek warning to Walford hardman Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) – do not mess with Zack Hudson’s sister Sharon (Letitia Dean), or else!

Viewers know that Sharon’s heart still lies with her ex after they admitted their feelings for one another recently.

After sharing a tender kiss, Phil walked out, insisting that he is marrying Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace).

But it’s not hard to miss that Sharon still holds out hope, and reckons that in time, she and Phil will try again.

However, if her heart is broken, defensive brother Zack will spring into action, with James promising that his alter ego is not intimidated by Phil one bit.

‘Zack would be like I am with my sisters and their fellas,’ the actor grinned in an interview with Inside Soap.

‘There’s not a chance of Phil taking the mick. I see a lot of myself in Zack when it comes to fearlessness where family are concerned.

‘I don’t care who you are – even if you are Phil Mitchell – you don’t mess with my sister!’

Shots absolute fired, so watch your step Phil!

And it would seem that James would be equally up for standing up for Letitia too, as the pair share a great bond off camera.

‘We’re close, and we know we can rely on each other,’ he shared. ‘Tish is deeply loyal, and I think she sees that in me too, which helps Zack and Sharon’s relationship.

‘I’d love to do a two-hander with Tish – she’s an icon, and she delivers every single time! The scenes where Sharon told Phil she loved him were brilliant.

‘I haven’t seen anything like it for 10 years.’

James is up for an award for Best Partnership with co-star and upcoming Strictly Come Dancing contender James Bye.

Friendships like Zack and Martin’s are key for soap viewers to be attached to characters, and James is delighted to be able to bounce off him in scenes.

It’s a relationship that will continue, especially when Zack needs a friend more than ever.

‘There’s something magical about seeing two lads bantering and also letting each other in,’ James said.

‘That’s going to go a lot further because I have a massive storyline coming up, and Martin will be a shoulder for Zack to cry on.’

James Farrar and James Bye are up for Best Partnership at the Inside Soap Awards 2022, and you can vote for them here.
