Celebrity MasterChef fans have been left disgusted after former footballer Jimmy Bullard decided to create a new recipe for today's show.

The star was given a block of goats cheese as his ingredient to include and made the bizarre decision to combine it with muscles and "wing it" with a new recipe.

He said he was creating "muscles in a cheese, garlic and white wine sauce"

When was asked if he has cooked muscles before the footballer said "I've never cooked muscles before."

"So I'm winging it."

One of the judges John Torode said: "Muscles cream sauce and white wine I get but he's adding the goats cheese to it as well.

"Muscles and goats cheese?"

Fans of the show were equally as shocked by the mix of ingredients.

One viewer took to twitter saying: "Mussels & goats cheese? That's complete bullard."

Another said: "Mussels in goat's cheese?"

While a third penned: "Sweet or savoury? Make a fish trifle"

And a fourth wrote: "Cheesy sauce with mussels???? #CelebrityMasterChef is he insane."

When he gave the dish to the judges they said that the muscles were "cooked to perfection" however they didn't go with the richness of the cheese sauce.
