EastEnders fans are fearing a downward spiral is looming for Gina Knight after she once again appears to go on a drink and drugs bender.

The Albert Square newcomer has been struggling with her addictions since her mum “Rose” abandoned her; and viewers believe sister Anna’s revelation that she’s hiring a private investigator is set to tip her over the edge.

Gina later found herself seeking solace in drugs after an awkward and drunken encounter with Jay at Peggy’s.

Attempting to woo him on a wild night out, he rejected her, sparking her lonely pursuit of another bender.

And some fans reckon she could die as a result of her worsening addiction.

“I bet Gina will die of a drugs overdose by the end of this year … Just as Cindy is coming back. It'll be like Ronnie and Danielle again,” said one fan.

“Oh no Gina is going to relapse . I hope Anna George or Elaine can stop her before it's to late. It's clear that Gina is struggling and she needs professional help in dealing with her trauma after her mum's disappearance,” penned a second.

“I really hope Gina doesn't relapse,” a third added.

"I think Gina is going to take something that will probably end up killing her by the time Cindy comes back. Will be like Ronnie / Danielle #Eastenders," another guessed.

The Knights were quick to question a disgruntled Gina on Monday’s episode (July 31) when Linda revealed that there was £200 missing from The Vic takings.

After Jay attempted to enjoy a quiet drink at The Albert, Gina unexpectedly joined him. Overwhelmed by her feelings, she rapidly drank and confided in Jay, pleading with him to look after Lexi, as she had lost her own mother before and didn't want the same for her niece.

As the drinks continued to flow, Gina's emotional state led her to make a risky move, placing her hand on Jay's leg.

Misinterpreting her actions, Jay made a hasty exit, leaving Gina feeling even more isolated.

Later, Gina sought out the dealer she had met in Peggy's a few weeks back to buy drugs. However, her plans were disrupted when Ravi intercepted the sale outside Walford East, suggesting that she buy from him instead.

Elsewhere, Stacey and Eve had hatched a plan to lure Stacey's stalker to No.31 after she had received lingerie from him at the bap van.

However, their plan had been interrupted when Martin had found Stacey hiding outside the house.

In the midst of the situation, Stacey had bumped into Theo, who explained that he had arrived to talk about Lily's tutoring.

Unaware of the potential danger she might be in, Stacey had invited Theo inside.
