EastEnders fans were on the edge of their seats on tonight’s episode of the BBC soap as Suki Panesar revealed the truth about her murderous husband, Nish.

The episode got off to a bombshell star as fans watched the aftermath unfold between Suki, Eve and Kheerat.

Suki and Eve were caught naked in bed together by a stunned Kheerat, with Suki then ordering Eve to leave.

Kheerat and Suki began having a heart to heart, with Suki reliving her past relationship with his father.

As the conversation developed, and with Nish arriving in the square after his stint in prison, Suki revealed that Nish didn’t murder an intruder at the shop, he murdered an innocent man she had befriended during what she described as an emotionally abusive marriage.

“Omg the truth!!!!!,” said one shocked fan.

“So Nish is a controlling scumbag,” proclaimed another.

While a third penned: “Nish the new baddie in walford. So glad Suki revealed the truth!”

Elsewhere Nish send Vinny into a panic when he questions where Suki is and leaves Stacey stunned at his arrival.

When Kheerat finally speaks to Vinny, he is stunned to hear his father is back but informs him that Nish can’t see Suki before she leaves for India.

After the call, Kheerat insists Suki goes to Mumbai, avoiding mention of Nish.

Stacey encourages Eve to stay with some friends to cool off as they both see Suki leave.

Kheerat arrives home to Ash and Vinny and is greeted by his dad, but as they embrace there is hatred in his eyes following the latest revelations made by his mother.

With the Panesar’s drama dominating the episode, fans got some relief in the for of Alfie’s sham wedding to Joan.

Kat pushes Alfie to rectify the mess he has made and he takes it upon himself to help Cecil turn things around and profess his love for Joan.

When the wedding begins, with Tara Misu as the officiant, Cecil – with the support of Alfie – finally plucks the courage to ask Joan to marry him.

She agrees and the pair appeared to finally be happy together.

Alfie is then seen growing hopeful as Kat praises his intervention, assuring her he’d wait until he’s old and grey to be with her.

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday on BBC One at 7.30pm
