EastEnders airs special flashforward scene for Christmas 2023
EastEnders fans have been speculating over who the possible victims could be on Christmas Day ever since the BBC soap aired a flash-forward scene – and now Jack Branning’s (Scott Maslen) name has been added to the list.
All fans know for certain is that the dead body on the floor of The Vic this Christmas is a man.
While some believe the trouble caused recently by Theo Hawthorne (William Ellis) and Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) could mean one of them could be killed in an act of revenge, one theory puts forward the idea that police officer Jack could be the victim.
Jack’s wife Denise Fox (Diane Parish) is one of the six women crowded around the body in the pub, so it wouldn’t be completely bizarre for Jack to be involved in whatever drama is set to come about.
Reddit user lookatwherethisgotus explained the possibility, writing: “The body will be a BIG character.

“It will also be someone involved in the LEAST obvious way.
“And also if a big character is leaving, they ALWAYS give them heaps of screentime/interaction with diff characters. The only one they’ve been doing subtly is Jack Branning.”
The fan went on to explain the possible links and motives the six women might have.
They explained: “In terms of the victims: Stacey (Slater, Lacey Turner) – He will want full custody of the baby, esp when he finds out (through his workplace) that Stacey has let a stalker in the house (Theo), amongst other things (money issues, only fans etc). Stacey will do anything to protect her kids. (sic)

“Linda (Carter, Kellie Bright) – Maybe something to do with Annie/Max Brannig (Jake Wood) and making sure Max knows about her after finding empathy through the Lily (Slater, Lilia Turner) baby situation.
“Denise – the big one, we’ve seen loads of problems with them for ages now.
“I reckon for Chelsea’s (Fox, Zaraah Abrahams) sake, Denise will try and tamper with Jack’s work again to get Ravi (Gulati, Aaron Thiara) off. Could be a billion reasons Denise is involved.
“Suki (Panesar, Balvinder Sopal) – He will get found out for trying to bang up Ravi/Nish (Panesar, Navin Chowdhry) /Vinny (Panesar, Shiv Jalota).
Kathy (Beale, Gillian Taylforth)- He might buy the chippy and/or have drama with Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) /Ian (Beale, Adam Woodyatt) – not happened onscreen just yet.
Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) – Unsure yet. Probably something to do with buisnesses or she’s just standing up to him for Linda’s sake.”
The theory could make sense because Jack or members of Jack’s family seem to have some kind of involvement with each of the women.
Could Jack end up being the unlikely victim this Christmas?
