EastEnders’ Molly Rainford reveals who she wants to win Strictly – and it’s not Bobby Brazier

EastEnders star Molly Rainford has revealed who she will be backing on the new series of Strictly Come Dancing when the live shows return on Saturday night.

Molly starred on last year's series of the BBC show, and she managed to reach the final, where she finished as a runner-up with her dance partner Carlos Gu.

The 22 year old appeared on Lorraine today, Wednesday, 20 September, to talk all things Strictly after it returned to our screens last weekend when viewers got to find out who the 15 celebrities will be dancing with for the series.

One of those 15 celebrities taking part is Molly's EastEnders co-star Bobby Brazier, who plays Freddie Slater in the soap.

However, when talking to Lorraine, Molly revealed that she won't be throwing her support behind her colleague – instead she will be backing TV presenter Angela Scanlon, who is partnered up with Carlos.

Lorraine explained that Molly's heart is not with Bobby, it is in another place, which Molly confirmed, saying: "It is, obviously I've got to support the cast mates, but I'm team Gu forever now."

She went on to add: "I kind of feel like his partner is my partner."

Lorraine then asked if it will be strange for Molly watching him dance with someone else, and she explained: "It is, but I'm so excited.

"I can't wait to see what they do together."

Irish star Angela, 39, thanked the "universe" when she found out that she was going to be dancing with Carlos.

She told host of the show Claudia Winkleman: "Thank you universe… I think Carlos will be able to teach me, he is direct… I feel like there is a directness that I might respond to, like brutal honesty that Carlos has."

Claudia then asked Carlos if he is going to walk away with the famous glitterball trophy this year.

He responded by saying: "Oh yes, I have made a better plan, and we are going for the Glitterball… we’ll do it one step at a time, no rush."

As for Molly, she may not have won the dancing show, but she did come out of it with a boyfriend, as she is now with her co-star Tyler West.

When she was speaking to Lorraine, she admitted that she came away with the best thing ever, and she added that it was easy when they got together as their families had all met in the audience of the show.
