Earlier this week, Nancy learned the truth that Zack cheated on her with Sam Mitchell after they'd had a row about Linda's future.

Zack tried to get things back on track by proposing, leaving Nancy shocked.

He orchestrated a meeting between Nancy and Linda after their tension last week.

As mother and daughter had a heartfelt chat, Nancy admitted part of her wanted to work things out with Zack.

Just when it looked like the Carters were making progress, Nancy found a bottle of vodka.

Linda insisted she wasn't going to drink the alcohol, but her daughter admitted their trust was now broken.

Nancy decided it was time to take a break from Zack too as she dropped the bombshell that their relationship is over for good — but that's not all.

The episode had a shocking cliffhanger where Nancy announced she'd be leaving Walford forever, telling Zack: "I love you… but I don't trust you. Neither of you. You're just going to keep letting me down.

"Even if you don't, I'm just going to spend the rest of our relationship thinking you are. I don't want to live like that."
