EastEnders newcomer Aaron Thiari has hinted that Ravi Gulati's arrival on Albert Square will bring "trouble" for the Panesar family – especially Kheerat.

Fans were first introduced to Ravi as the cellmate of Phil Mitchell, before BBC bosses announced that he was joining the soap as a permanent character.

However, Ravi actor Aaron has now hinted that his arrival on the square with on-screen father Ranveer is set to bring trouble for the Panesar family, saying: "Wherever Ravi goes, trouble DOES follow. So, fasten your seatbelts, y’all."

After Ravi asked Phil to find out more about Kheerat, who currently works with Phil's son Ben, it seems that the newcomer could have his eyes set on confronting him – but viewers will have to wait and find out why.

However, Aaron hinted that there there is a hidden feud between Ravi and Kheerat, which looks to come to a head in the soap.

He said: "I believe Ravi thinks in a parallel time, in an alternative universe he could have been living the life Kheerat is, I believe Ravi is fully capable to have it all; the businesses, the legal mindset, the ‘straight-arrowed’ way of living, but because of his upbringing he’s been taken down a different route and journey as well as being shunned by his father, it’s meant he couldn’t truly be who he had the potential to be and that’s the underlying route of their conflict – it’s a bit of jealousy, in my opinion."

Before confronting Kheerat however, Ravi has to deal with the murder of his father Ranveer.

"Ravi is gut-wrenched, breathless, and experiencing a lot of conflicting sensations," said Aaron.

"Essentially, it’s someone you still care about, regardless of what your relationship with them is, and part of you dies a little seeing them in that state or having them gone.

"I think Ravi would personally have been surprised as to how much he actually cared because of the strained relationship with him and how much he cared for a male figure in his life."

Yet despite conflict brewing on Albert Square, Aaron revealed that he has a hidden link to Kheerat star Jaz Deol and that the two have a close bond in real life.

Speaking about working with the Panesar family actors, he said: "I think it's a bit cliché to say, but they're so amazing and they're so wonderful to work with.

Aaron added: "It is very much like a family and I’ve been lucky to be a part of it. I knew Jaz previously, so it’s nice for me and him to reconnect in this way so I’m very excited to see where the dynamics and relationships on and off screen take us."
