EastEnders’ original Lauren Branning star Madeline Duggan looks different in glam snaps

Madeline Duggan, who played EastEnders' original Lauren Branning, looks very different from her soap days, in  glam snaps from her Instagram account.

The actress, now 28, starred on EastEnders from 2006 to 2010 as Max Branning's eldest daughter, Lauren, until Jacqueline Jossa took over the role.

Madeline now boasts 26k followers on her public Instagram account, where she's posted a slew of glamorous snaps.

In one post, Madeline showed off her chocolate-brown locks, bronzed eye makeup and glossy lips, whilst in another, she looked glam in a pink dress that was slashed to the navel.

She recently visited Paris, and she made sure to include plenty of snaps of the trip on her Instagram as she enjoyed the cuisine and visited the Eiffel Tower.

When Madeline played Lauren on the BBC soap, she was part of a shocking Christmas Day storyline which saw her exposing her father's affair with his daughter-in-law, Stacey Slater, as she played a video tape to the family.

She was also part of a storyline that saw her dad disapprove of her relationship with Peter Beale, which saw Max strangling him and forbidding the relationship.

Lauren then ran over her dad with a car, leaving him in a coma, for which her mum, Tanya, took the blame, before Lauren confessed and was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and was sentenced to two years under supervision.

Then, at Lauren's 16th birthday, her uncle Jack Branning was shot.

Madeline left the show in 2010, before the role of Lauren Branning was given to Jaqueline Jossa.

Madeline has previously opened up about Jaqueline taking over, as she said she was "glad" that the role was re-cast. On Twitter, she responded to a fan who asked how she felt.

She said: “Unmmmmmmm I understand it more now lol I looked like a baby in that ep and I was tiny and didn’t grow (still only 5’2) so I get that they wanted someone older to play different story lines & I'm very glad it happened.”

She went on: “I was very young and it give (sic) me options to do other things and get an American agent and enjoy some teenage life without being on screen lol worked out for the best.”

Jaqueline left Eastenders in 2018, before returning in 2022 during an emotional storyline as the residents of Walford paid their respects at the funeral of legendary character, Dot Cotton

She is reportedly keen on reprising the role full-time, and is said to have been having "secret chats" with show bosses.

Jacqueline is mother to two daughters, Ella, eight, and Mia, four, who she shares with her husband, former TOWIE star, Dan Osborne, 31.
