Emmerdale fans think romance could be on the cards for Aaron Dingle and Mackenzie Boyd after a car crash horror saw his vehicle plunge off a cliff – with either Charity Dingle or Chloe Harris still inside. In horrific scenes on Tuesday (October 10), Mackenzie was forced to choose between the two women in his life as the car teetered on the edge of a precipice.
It hasn’t yet been revealed who he chose to save, with Mack clasping hands with one mystery woman before the car flew to the bottom of the chasm.
But fans are sure they know where the storyline is going – and betting Mack doesn’t end up pursuing Charity or Chloe in a huge new twist. Instead, eagle-eyed viewers think Mack could fall for Aaron now that he has returned to the village.

Mack and Aaron had struck up a flirty relationship before Aaron left for Italy and his new boyfriend Marco, but the pair have now split. In a twist of fate, could the original plot finally play out?
Some Reddit users certainly think so. One penned: “The original plan was for Mack to be Aaron’s love interest. He was cheeky, a flirt, bisexual and a rogue… but they dropped the idea for some reason. Could he get back to being the fun-loving, trouser-dropping, ‘Oh officer, Aaron and I have just been having sex in that field’ Mack as he once was?”
Someone else suggested this month’s Super Soap Week could provide a “hard reset” for the programme and end with Aaron and Mackenzie falling for one another. They penned: “My theory is that this week is essentially a hard reset to write Aaron back into the village. It is probably no coincidence that Aaron is back in the same week that the Chloe/Mack/Charity debacle is set to be resolved. Unlike the Lydia storyline, Mack and Aaron’s fates have, potentially, always been connected narratively.”
Addressing the reasons behind the theory, the user added that Mackenzie was brought onto the show just as Aaron dealt with the fallout of losing his husband Robert Sugden – receiving his divorce papers the same week as Mack entered the village.
They went on: “There have been no suggestions that he is interested in men since Aaron’s departure. Has Aaron and Mackenzie’s prior chemistry been forgotten or swept under the rug? Has the Chloe/Mack vs Charity/Mack ‘war’ all been for nothing? Will whichever woman survives the car crash ultimately end up being dumped by Mackenzie anyway?”

Mack has had his fair share of partners since coming into the Dales, marrying Charity but cheating on her with Chloe, welcoming baby Reuben with the young mum before proposing to her. But he could be set to turn his back on both of them in order to pursue Aaron.
Other theories, however, could see Robert finally released from prison to fall back into Aaron’s arms – especially as actor Danny Miller was seen cosying up to Ryan Hawley at a cast party last year.
