Emmerdale boss says Belle Dingle will find love in ‘most perfect relationship ever seen’

After months of failed relationships and more than her fair share of misery, Emmerdale bosses have revealed that there could finally be a little sunshine on the horizon for Belle Dingle in the coming months.

Regular viewers will have seen Belle embroiled in some fairly hefty storylines in recent years, including living with schizophrenia, being the victim of evil Lachlan White and most recently a failed affair with devious vet Jamie Tate and the death of her business partner Al Chapman.

However in a welcome change of pace, Emmerdale bosses have now confirmed that 2023 is definitely Belle’s year, and that fans will even see her pursuing a brand new romance later this summer.

Chatting to the Loose Women on Thursday’s edition of the show, the soap’s executive producer Jane Hudson admitted things would indeed begin to look up for Belle as she teased a steamy new romance for the young entrepreneur.

During the show, panelist Judi Love read out one viewer’s question, which said: "They ask 'will Belle find love soon?' And suggest she'd be a good match for Jacob [Gallagher].”

Jane replied: "She’s not gonna find love with Jacob but she is gonna find love! We’ve got a bit of summer loving for Belle, so you need to see what happens. But yes, Belle is finally going to fall in love with someone!”

She even teased fans further by adding: “It could even be the most perfect relationship we’ve ever seen!”

Belle, who is played by actress Eden Taylor Draper in the show, was last in a serious relationship on screen with Ellis Chapman, prior to straying with married man Jamie.

The couple initially began to drift apart after Ellis moved to Dubai, but when he later returned to the village, despite attempting to rekindle their romance, it sadly was dead in the water.

It was during this time that Belle began to grow closer to Jamie, as the pair were both employed at the veterinary surgery.

In order to go public with her fling with Jamie, Belle ended things with Ellis after Jamie promised he would leave his wife Andrea in order for them to be together.

Yet in true soap fashion, it didn’t go according to plan, as rather than starting a new loved up life together, Jamie went on to fake his own death and flee the village, leaving a lovelorn Belle behind to pick up the pieces.

Emmerdale continues weekdays at 7pm on ITV, and Loose Women airs at 12.30pm.
