Emmerdale fans were thrilled after the latest instalment of the soap (Thursday 5 October) as they spotted a connection between two of the characters amid a love triangle.

Eagle-eyed fans theorised a connection between Meena Jutla and Charity Dingle, who is currently in a love triangle with Mackenzie Boyd and Chloe Harris.

Meena, played by actress Paige Sandhu, was an evil serial killer on the ITV soap and was jailed back in April 2022 and sentenced to 75 years. In the latest episode, fans believe they spotted a Meena link as Charity bumped into Chloe at the playground, who was worried about her baby Reuben.

After some small talk between the duo, Charity ended up taking Chloe and her baby to A&E as she was worried he had meningitis. Amid the drama and quick dash to the hospital, fans noticed a detail about Charity’s outfit and believed they had seen it before.

Fans quickly took to X, formally known as Twitter, as one said: “Is… that Meena's jacket?”, while another added: “I want the jacket to be passed down to me next”.

A third added: “The jacket returns!”

The jacket in question is a brown suede jacket with a gold zip and gold detailing and appeared to make quite the impression on Emmerdale fans.

The drama didn’t stop there in the latest episode as viewers saw a distraught Lydia finally speak out abouther rape,after her old friend Craig Reed came onto the scene.

Lydia finally opened up after Mandy confronted her and asked if she had been having an affair with Craig and told her that Samson thinks she is in love with him.

Lydia tried to shut Mandy down and denied having an affair before running out onto the streets. Lydia was then almost run over by her boss Kim Tate before breaking down and revealing all about Craig’s actions last month.

Fans were pleased Lydia has spoken out after keeping it to herself for weeks, as one said: “I am beyond proud of Kim because she just let Lydia talk and take her time, it was a brilliant performance by both of them”, and another penned: “So glad Lydia has confided in Kim, fantastic performance from @karenblick and Claire king #emmerdale”.

A third added: “Watching tonight's #Emmerdale & I'm so glad Lydia has finally confided to Kim that she was raped. She has looked so distressed, & was only trying to "protect Sam" but I've felt so sorry for her! Very good acting from the woman playing Lydia”.
