Emmerdale icon teases huge return from the dead after being killed off

Actor Michael Praed has teased a shock Emmerdale return for Frank Clayton, despite the fact he was killed off in 2019.

Soaps love to raise their characters from the dead, the most recent example being Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) in EastEnders, but could Emmerdale be set to follow suit?

It isn’t out of the realms of possibility, as long term viewers may remember that Kim Tate (Claire King) was actually killed off at one point, but was resurrected not long later.

So could Frank be the next soap character to be raised from the dead?

Frank met a grisly end when he tried to save daughter Tracy (Amy Walsh) from the burning factory, after Kerry and Amy Wyatt (Laura Norton and Natalie Ann Jamieson) accidentally set the building alight while attempting to destroy CCTV footage.

However, actor Michael Praed has put out the feelers for a resurrection storyline, suggesting that Tracy helped Frank fake his own death as part of an insurance scam.

‘It wouldn’t be a huge leap to have scheming Frank fake his own death’,’ he told What’s on TV Magazine. ‘He could’ve cooked up a fantastic scam with his daughter Tracy to claim millions in life insurance. That could happen.’

As Michael pointed out, this would totally fit into Frank’s character, given that he served time in prison for fraud.

After arriving in the Emmerdale village, he continued to scam people, this time teaming up with Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) to steal diamonds from Home Farm.

Michael went on to admit that he was sad to leave Emmerdale, and admitted he ‘fell in love with working on [it]’.

With Tracy now back in the Village, and other daughter Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick) set to return, could a return from the dead be on the cards for Frank?
