Official spoilers for the ITV soap reveal Kim (played by Claire King) and Harriet (Katherine Dow Blyton) will have a showdown on the big day, which will ultimately be the lead-up to Emmerdale’s explosive 50th-anniversary episode. Will the unfinished business between Harriet and Kim loom heavily over the celebrations?

It begins as stressed-out vicar Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) is surprised to spot bride-to-be Kim out riding ahead of her wedding.

When Kim eyes Harriet from her horse, it’s clear there are tensions growing between the pair.

At Home Farm, Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) is worried when Will (Dean Andrews) informs him there may not be a wedding as he and Kim need to have it out if they’re going to move forward.

Kim arrives home and their argument over Harriet soon commences.

Will is insistent he doesn’t want to be with his ex and puts the ball firmly back in Kim’s court.

Has he said enough to win back his bride? Later, Kim confronts Harriet, who is very surprised to see her.

Suddenly, she snaps and grabs Kim by the throat. How will the bride react?

Can Kim say or do anything to get Harriet to back off from her man?

Meanwhile, at the church, the wedding guests get settled ahead of Kim’s arrival.

As word her arrival is imminent, the guests head outside to see the spectacle of the elegant Kim arriving on horseback.

The wedding ceremony commences, and after the service, the wedding party are shocked on leaving the church by the intensity of the wind.

It seems the big storm will begin shortly after the ceremony – will disaster strike as celebrations start?

Emmerdale viewers will have seen Will and Harriet clash recently over Kim, and Harriet expressed her concerns that Kim would frame her for the murder of Mark Malone (Mark Womack).

“That’s all dead and buried,” Will argued, trying to reassure Harriet that Kim wouldn’t use the murder against her.

“We’ve only got her word for that,” Harriet yelled, panicking about Kim’s plans.

Talking about Kim’s hostility towards her, she added: “She’s marking her territory, like the b**** she is.”

“Marking her territory?” Will asked, fuming, to which Harriet responded: “She knows I’m a threat, Will! She can smell it.”

“What, just because you’re my ex?” Will asked, leaving Harriet furious.

“Oh, that’s it, is it?” She questioned. “That’s all I am to you.”

Later, Harriet admitted she hadn’t stopped loving Will, explaining: “I guess that’s what 20 years of history does.”

“What do you want me to say?” Will asked his old flame, unsure of how to react.

“That you can’t marry her,” Harriet pressed, adding: “After all she’s done to Dawn!”

She argued: “We were so good together, and I know I destroyed all that, and everything that happened with Malone…”

“Should be left in the past,” Will cut in, to which Harriet shouted: “Pushed you into the arms of that monster!”

As Will got up to leave, Harriet insisted he wouldn’t be happy with Kim.

With Kim aware that Harriet is pleading for Will to leave her, she’s bound to form some kind of plan of action.

After confronting Harriet, did she threaten to expose Malone’s murder?

Perhaps she threatened to kill Harriet herself in order to keep her from Will for good.

With the soap’s 50th celebrations being marked by a dangerous weather event in the village, it seems the wedding is simply the calm before the storm.

Will Kim and Harriet have the ultimate showdown as things escalate?

Emmerdale continues on Tuesday at 7.30pm on ITV.
