Emmerdale fans are convinced newcomer Craig Reed (Ben Addis) is bad news.

The businessman bumped into his old flame Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) in recent scenes and the pair continued to catch up during Friday's (August 18) episode of the ITV soap.

They bumped into each other at a job fair as Lydia tries to bring home some extra cash for her family.

Craig and Lydia grabbed a coffee together at the fair and it was the first time the pair had seen each other in 33 years when they both lived in a children's home together.

Lydia was left gobsmacked when he randomly turned up at the Dingle's family home.

Craig told Lydia that he found her address on her CV, leaving fans concerned and rushing to their keyboards to share their thoughts.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan penned: "Oh, oh. Watch yerself, Lydia. He looks like the Yorkshire Ripper to me."

Another added: "I don't trust Craig at all."

A third person said: "Creepy little weirdo."

While a fourth person wrote: "Craig is giving Stalker vibes."

Craig and Lydia late chatted about their son Toby, which Craig was unaware about.

Fans will know that Lydia, then known as Jenny Finn, gave birth in secret and, upon learning that her son was stillborn, decided to bury his body in woodland which would later be developed into Hotten Academy.

Jenny then moved away and changed her name to Lydia Hart, fearing that the police would be looking for her.

Lydia's husband Sam Dingle (James Hutton) was left gobsmacked when he returned home and found his wife catching up with Craig.

He was left even more gutted when he learned it wasn't the first time Lydia and Craig had seen each other.

Fans will have to wait and see if Craig comes between Lydia and Sam.

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
