Eric arrested in Hollyoaks after Maxine takes shocking action to report him?

Eric Foster (Angus Castle-Doughty) will have some serious explaining to do in Hollyoaks after Sam Chen-Williams (Matthew McGivern) stopped by his caravan to take him to the station.

Maxine Minniver (Nikki Sanderson), as viewers know, has long suspected that Eric is not the person he claims to be, having picked up on his vile and misogynistic behaviour several months ago.

Eric, however, has claimed that she has a vendetta against him and that he’s not the evil person she’s making him out to be, but viewers of the Channel 4 soap know otherwise, with the radical misogynist often seen spouting his warped viewpoints on an all-male forum.

Maxine, meanwhile, is determined to find something to prove Eric’s villainy, and after making contact with an old flatmate of his, named Seamus, she revealed that she believes Eric to be responsible for his sister Verity’s (Eva O’Hara) demise.

But without any evidence to prove such a thing, she took drastic action in a bid to make Eric face up to what he did, as she tipped the police off about a spiking kit that was located in the bins outside the Dog – where his caravan resides.

It is thought that Max planted the evidence there before notifying authorities, hopeful that it would result in fingers being pointed at Eric, who is the village spiker.

Policeman Sam subsequently arrived on Eric’s doorstep, revealing that he’d retrieved this so-called evidence. Eric was quick to state that he’d been set up, but Sam ordered him to accompany him to the police station for questioning on the matter.

Maxine, meanwhile, watched from afar, hopeful that Eric will now finally pay for his crimes.

The paralegal-in-training, however, will face more disappointment next week, and thus she breaks into Eric’s caravan in the hopes of finding evidence. Shocking scenes ensue as a result, with Eric’s storyline reaching a dramatic peak in a special hour-long episode, due to air on Tuesday January 10.

Hollyoaks continues Friday January 6 at 7pm on E4, or stream the next episode from midnight on All4.
