Dame Esther Rantzen reveals how long she has left to live
Ester Ranzten’s daughter Rebecca Wilcox told GB News’ Patrick Christys the family has made an extra effort this festive season following her mum’s stage four cancer. She said: “Living with cancer is not fun. It’s tiring, knowing that you have cancer, it’s tiring, physically, living with cancer.
“She has been the person with more energy than I have ever known in my whole life and it is interesting and awful to see this stage of her life. But we’ve got a Christmas we never thought we were going to have.
“When she was diagnosed back in January, we thought she wouldn’t make it to Christmas. So we’ve gone nuts for Christmas.”
Rebecca revealed the home has trees, lights, baubles, presents and stars everywhere in a bid to make the festive season that extra special for Ester. She added: “Father Christmas is leaving many stockings!”

“We’ve got three elves on the shelves and it’s all going nuts and it’s all for her and I can’t wait.”
Recently, Ester has made headlines after revealing she’s joined the Swiss organisation Dignitas, which enables people to have an assisted death.
Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s The Today Podcast, the broadcaster confessed there’s a possibility she’ll fly to Zurich if her condition hasn’t shown signs of improvement in her next scan.
Sharing her thoughts on Ester’s proposed plan, Rebecca revealed where she stands on assisted dying.

Rebecca added: “Obviously we don’t want her to die, we want her to live forever.
“She’s managed to break many glass ceilings but mortality, unfortunately not.
“Am I alright with assisted dying? I am alright with a person’s right to choose as long as that is their choice and there is no outside influence.
“That every single possible method of sustaining life has been taken.”
Assisted dying is currently banned in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, with a maximum prison sentence of 14 years.
Which, Ester highlighted, could cause complications for her family should she decide to go to Zurich.
Speaking to Nick Robinson and Amol Rajan on the podcast, she stated: “They [her family] would want to go with me and that means that the police might prosecute them.
“So we’ve got to do something. At the moment, it’s not really working, is it?”
