Eurovision fans spot huge Big Brother hint from AJ Odudu during semi-final draw

Eagle-eyed Eurovision Song Contest fans believe they may have spotted a huge hint from host AJ Odudu that she has landed the role of Big Brother presenter when the reality TV show returns later this year.

AJ, 34, was in Liverpool on Tuesday (January 31) evening as officials from previous Eurovision host Italy handed over the reins to the United Kingdom as a result of Sam Ryder's second placed finish last year.

Ryder finished behind Ukraine's Kalush Orchestra. However, as Ukraine is unable to host the competition due to its ongoing conflict with Russia, the M&S Arena on Liverpool's Royal Albert Dock was selected as an alternative venue.

The show also saw AJ – alongside Rylan Clark, also 34 – conduct the Allocation Draw for the Semi-Finals, which divides participating nations into separate pots depending on historic voting patterns, before they are placed into one of two qualifying rounds.

And it was during this process that viewers became convinced AJ was teasing fans with a Big Brother clue.

After drawing the name of one nation, AJ quipped: "Fancy another one?" – the line made famous by original Big Brother host Davina McCall when introducing new housemates in the programme's launch night shows.

Viewers soon flocked to Twitter to discuss what they had just seen, with one commenting: "AJ Odudu saying the iconic Davina line 'fancy another one' during the allocation draw… that may be a little tease that she is our new host of Big Brother #BBUK #Eurovision."

Another declared: "Could AJ have just dropped a little Big Brother reference?? Just a little one for when she becomes host? Icon! #Eurovision."

A third added: "Anyone else feel like AJ's 'fancy another one' line there was a direct cheeky reference to her hosting Big Brother 2023… #Eurovision #BBUK."

And a fourth said: "AJ just said ‘fancy another one’ she’s got to be Big Brother host surely."

Rumours of AJ's potential appointment to the job first began circulating in November after it was reported she had held talks with ITV bosses – Big Brother's new home following previous stints on Channel and Channel 5.

A source told The Sun at the time: "AJ has been offered the Big Brother job and jumped at the opportunity. It’s a huge boost to her career. AJ and ITV are still ironing out details in her contract but she has told a lot of people the job is hers."

However, an ITV spokesperson later confirmed: "All suggestions surrounding the host are speculation at this stage."
