Lin Blakley swaps EastEnders for Emmerdale soon as she arrives as Georgia, Jai Sharma’s (Chris Bisson) mum.

Best known for her role as the beloved Pam, close friend to Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden), Lin’s debut in the Dales will come just days before Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) and Jai’s wedding.

We know things haven’t been easy for Laurel and Jai ever since they got engaged. This is largely down to the fact Jai discovered he’s adopted just hours after Laurel’s proposal, which has meant he’s been extremely focused on Rishi’s (Bhasker Patel) massive secret keeping rather than worrying about what flowers to put on the tables at the reception.

Rishi has maintained the view that he doesn’t know much about Jai’s biological father, but new arrival Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) has given the impression there’s more to what Rishi is saying than he’s letting on.

In this new video, as Jai and Laurel chat about their big day, Jai is distracted when a taxi pulls up.

He notices his mum and seems shocked to see her, but can Georgia help with fixing Jai and Rishi’s relationship?

Or could she just make everything worse?

‘On paper things always look a bit brighter, don’t they, but you’re never really busy in a soap unless your character’s miserable [laughs] or something’s going wrong. So there’s plenty of Sharma drama to come’, Chris Bisson teased.

‘Jai is feeling excited about the wedding and he’s also feeling anxious. He’s wondering whether his dad will actually turn up to see him get married, which he desperately wants.’
