GB News star red-faced after live blunder – ‘I completely misread that’

GB News presenter fluffs lines live on air

Tom Harwood made a huge TV blunder live on air during Friday’s GB News broadcast after he “completely” misread the autocue. In the hilarious error during the afternoon show, the broadcaster, 27, saw the funny side as he admitted to making the mistake.

He sat alongside co-star Emily Carver and was discussing news and current affairs. However, when moving on to the next topic, he appeared to fluff his lines.

The presenter told viewers: “Well let’s move on now. But of course, keep your views coming in at [email protected].”

As he moved onto the next topic, he began his introduction with: “If you are fortunate enough to be watching this..” But he quickly realised that he had “misread” his lines and needed to start over.

Tom confessed: “Sorry I completely misread that, let’s start again”.

The journalist then burst out laughing, looking towards his co-host to step in. Seeing the light of the situation Emily, 30, laughed before taking over.

She then moved on to the news story which was about homeowners.

Tom is no stranger when it comes to comedy on air, as last year, he decided to eat his own hat when he wrongly predicted the elections.

The reporter promised he would “eat an item of clothing” after the polls closed if the Tories held a single seat up for grabs in the trio of elections.

The Conservatives lost Selby and Ainsty to Labour and Somerton and Frome to the LibDems.

But they managed to hold onto Boris Johnson’s old seat of Uxbridge and South Ruislip.

Appearing on GB News’ midmorning show, he was seen wearing a “dunce’s hat” which he later screwed up and ate it.

He said: “I’m a man of my word.”

In the hilarious clip, he told Emily that he had spoken with Tories who claimed their vote was holding up – which he dismissed as “the worst expectations management in the world”.

GB News airs daily from 6am.
