Geordie Shore star confirms I'm A Celebrity stint as he heads into the jungle | The Sun

GEORDIE Shore star Nathan Henry has confirmed he is starring on I'm A Celebrity Australia.

The 32 year-old announced the news just hours before he made his debut on Aussie TV screens tonight (April 2).

Nathan is filming the show in South Africa, confirming The Sun's report last month that he was in talks to join the series.

He shared the news on his instagram, as the reality favourite posted a video recorded just before he left to go into the jungle.

A shirtless Nathan said in the clip: "Good morning everyone, if you are seeing this then the news has obviously broke that I am going into the jungle to do I'm A Celebrity Australia. I think that is the car outside waiting to pick me up.

"I am so excited, I am so nervous, this is the biggest secret I have ever kept and youse know I have got a very big mouth. I hope I do the UK proud and I hope everyone votes for me to win. I am getting a bit emotional, what the f***. "

Huge pop star hints he's tempted to take part in I'm A Celebrity

An insider told The Sun recently: "I'm A Celebrity is a huge opportunity for Nathan and he really wants to do the show.

"It's really a dream come true for him. It's also perfect timing now Geordie Shore is winding down."

Geordie Shore has a huge fan base in Australia and Nathan has built up a big following there since joining the MTV show in 2015.

Earlier this year The Sun told how Geordie Shore has been axed after 12 years.

Insiders said television bosses are pulling the infamous MTV show amid plummeting ratings.

In recent years ratings have tumbled to barely over 100,000.

At its peak it was regularly pulling in more than one million viewers per episode.

The first-of-its-kind show documented a group of 20-somethings as they stumbled from bar to bar in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

The original cast included Charlotte, Gaz, Vicky, Jay Gardner, Holly Hagan, James Tindale, Greg Lake and Sophie Kasaei.

When it first aired the show caused a huge backlash, with Geordie Shore accused of glorifying binge-drinking.

Despite this, the series was a huge success and sparked spin offs including All Star Shore and the reunion shows

Vicky, 35, Charlotte, 32, and Gaz, 34, have all become millionaires thanks to countless lucrative brand deals and TV appearances off the back of their fame from the show.

Gaz has largely stepped back from the limelight to raise his two children Chester, five, and Primrose, three, with wife Emma Beadle.
